View from ELIO restaurant / seeing Buyukada
A visit to a restaurant is one of the main entertainments while traveling. Our yacht guests often ask me where to go on a yacht (day trip) near Istanbul.
When it comes to restaurants, of course, it is very difficult to give short and clear recommendations here. After all, Istanbul is a whole universe in which there is, probably, everything. And, as they say, we all have different tastes. Therefore, one person may like the recommendation, another - not at all.
Usually yachts that are rented in Istanbul for one day without an overnight stay go to the Princes' Islands. There you can swim, walk around the islands, if you wish, and have a delicious lunch.
The Elio Sedef restaurant may suit you if you are looking for beauty and comfort in the style of the French Riviera. It is located on the beautiful Sedef - one of the smallest Princes' Islands. I was lucky to be there in July 2021 for a lunch on the occasion of my friend's bachelorette party. We were seated at one large table in the shade. For those who like to take a couple, or even more, photos, this place will suit with a bang.
So - a beautiful view, a cozy terrace overlooking Buyukada (the largest Princes Island), yachts at anchor, the sea, noisy Istanbul on the horizon, seagulls. What else do you need for a leisurely lunch during your vacation!
Elio Sedef, as I understand it, is considered a premium restaurant or is positioned as very close level to this. With this view and location, it's understandable. The island itself is considered not public - in the sense that you can only get here by private boat - by water taxi or yacht. Public transport, like Istanbul's famous ferries, does not go here.
If there is an occasion, be sure to come here. I think you'll like it. In the meantime, I’ll think about other places to recommend.
